What's the difference in the two stories?

Fredro says he swung back, Buddah Monk doesn't mention it at all, but never said he DIDN'T swing back.
Buddah Monk said Fredro went to get a hammer, Fredro didn't mention that.
Fredro said Dirty apologized, and it was squashed. Buddah Monk says it was squashed, but he doesn't remember Dirty apologizing.

Maybe Fredro did lie about Dirty personally apologizing to him, but I'm not sure how much it changes what happened.
