for $1200 you could build a pretty beasty computer, or get an average pre-built. that's pretty much what it comes down to

yup.

if you took the time to cherry pick your parts and put it together yourself you would have much better parts and you would really know your PC.
researching the parts is fun and educational.

the pre-builts for that price usually come with a very good cpu, and a 'budget' gpu. it's just a shame to spend that much money, and end up with a $150 gpu

you could put together a gtx 780 build for that much money. but you're probably better off with something like the 770 (or AMD equivalent), and quality accessories (SSD, nice mouse/kb, etc)

$1200 will get you pretty much top of the line.. (if you dont care about the difference between 98 fps and 99 fps that is..)
Top of the line? You could blow half that budget on a top of the line graphics card. Hell over half.

At $1,300 go Intel

You are also overpaying for MANY items on there

Nope. I've stated several times on here i had bad experience with Intel and AMD has been good to me. Plus AMD is the best to OC and its cheaper then Intel CPU's with not much of difference in performance for the price differential. And please tell which items im overpaying for...Newegg has the best deals aside from a few items that were like $15 cheaper which i dont mind the difference there.

Check out www.microcenter.com for some of those parts. They usually cheaper than newegg.

i just checked for each item there and half my shyt aint even on there and the only thing that is cheaper is the processor but u have to go pick it up at the store. Plus those prices dont even include shipping which is free with newegg. So eventually at the end,it's the same prices except newegg has more variety of items...
