I know it's a republican talking point, but it's kinda a miracle that those middle eastern terror ists haven't used this as an entry way. Seems like a huge security threat.

I don't even think distance or oceans are an issue. Npr did a story a few weeks ago on Chinese people from Asia and cameroonians from Africa crossing the southern border to enter the US, so it's not a huge logical leap for syrians , afghan, Somalia, etc extremists to do it.
