Bulls clearly aint gonna do nothin until their franchise player is back 100%
amnestying boozer will give the bulls a 4 million in cap space this year
I thought the bulls should of traded deng for that 7 pick and drafted barnes but they didnt
No need to magnify/nitpick every move they make, bulls are in a position no other team in the nba is in. Their Best player/the franchise suffered a serious injury and they were already over the cap. They Get rid the overrated bench mob which is a good look and semi tank next year hopefully missing the playoffs and come back strong in 13-14 and have cap space after that season to upgrade the roster
appreciate your optimism. def not here to shyt on your opinion. ill just remind you that the front office attempted to sell us a 2 year plan in 2010 when they struck out on lebron and wade and couldnt put a quality 2 guard on the roster. and they struck out on jj reddikk.
my opinion is thte "2 year plan" is no more than another pacifying tool and baseless rhetoric. a lot of holes to fill in that plan. before they were telling us that 2012 would be the year they re tool and thats why cj, brewer, korver were on 2 year deals. the front office made nothing out of they unguarantees or asik one of they main assets. they played the let the market dictate game and lost everybody. they never seriously considered guys like nick young and oj mayo and ran up the behind of kirk hinrich and courtney lee. kirk is a pacifying signing because they know he a fan favorite. no way can they think he a true starting quality pg. but he was the 1 guy they could sign, still stay under the hard cap and satisfy the fans.
useless to get so much money under the cap when you wont have any game changing players in 2014 to sign with that dough. didnt garpax learn they lesson from 2010? they strike out on free agency they lose everything, most importantly precious years out of rose career.
it was only 2 ways to go, 1. tank, i mean truly tank, send deng and noah out on draft night for lottery picks and young talent. 2. amnesty boozer or ship him for whatever you can get and let go of the bench mob. sit rose for the entire year. develop the young talent we got for deng and noah with taj and jimmy bulter during the year rose out. or 2. re tool. get rid of the weak links and put a combination of guards on the floor that can carry the scoring for rose until around the 2nd rd of the playoffs when rose will be back to 100%. with thibs coaching that 2nd option was possible. if cj, korver and john lucas the damn 3rd can carry the scoring role while rose was out last season surely the combination of jamal, oj mayo, courtney lee, nick young, etc any two of those guys would have done fine until rose was back 100%.
they blew both plans and failed to aggressively pursue any free agents that would cost more than 3 mill per to sign. letting asik go, letting the bench mob go and letting rip go would have given us the full MLE. then we still trade korver for that TPE. thats enough right there to sign 2 of those impact guards. but the bulls didnt want to go a few mill over the tax. that is just flat out cheap. now who is to say they wont p*ssy foot and pull this same cheap ass conservative attitude in 2 years once bron and wade and dirk and pierce are off the table? which is likely cause i cant see bron and wade becoming journeymen and leaving south beach, and at the ages dirk and pierce will be at then, how do you sign them to anything significant hoping they can bring you a ring? its a stupid plan imo.
I dont have a problem getting rid of anyone on the team not named Derrick Rose. But what I don't like is not having a plan in place to stay the same or get better. This is an obvious tank job but it doesnt make us any better even when D. Rose does come back.
they are not tanking, and if it is, its a horrible job at it. they will be paying the starting 5 60 million dollars to tank? then if we dont land a top 2 pick, we back to square 1. jerry is trying to keep the bulls profitable which means keeping the salary down. its good for business but a slap and diss to the fans. we rode with these dudes when eddie robinson and ron mercer was playing for us, they were right there to contend, just a few changes and we competing. but it became more important for jerry to keep the bulls as the 2nd most profitable team in the league, then to pay a few mill in tax and make us a contender.
I hope the FO plan aint to tank, if it is they better fire Thibs right now. That nikka aint letting no wins slide
which is why the team as currently constructed with kirk, vlad rad, marco and nazr will still probably be a top 4 team in the east, cause thibs can flat out coach, especially some defense.
but when rose comes back, now he feels the need to carry these dudes as far as he can, and on a knee that aint even that strong for him, that is really dangerous.
