Legend in this day in time is no different than the basketball hall of fame. I don't think Nip was a legend either, but I do think he did a lot of work for his community and was highly respected by most.

I agree. I never heard anyone banging any of Nipsey's music before he died. Now that he's dead now all of sudden he's been elevated. I see so many people on social media that changed their profile pictures to Nipsey and posting so much about him when prior to his death they couldn't name one song of his. This is not to disrespect Nipsey because he was a solid dude and did a lot for the community but I think a lot of this is fake love.

It's not just because he's dead, I could produce 100 dead rappers of 2019 who didn't get a fraction of attention or blow up as a result. Him standing for something is what got him the legacy and mainstream praise he has gotten. It's just unfortunate that he did have to die to be appreciated for it.

Lets not get carried away. Before he passed, he was not selling out Staples by himself. If he could, he would have. Living in LA, he was not mentioned like that. Most people in LA didn't know about all of his community work till after he died. He gained a lot of fans when he died. Those are facts
