Waning influence on that continent, resources are more important than ever,Russia and China are gaining more and more influence on the continent so the soup of the day is no longer US backed policy. Hegemony politics by the US has been a losing proposition for the last 5 years. They can go in and try to do the old and tired mdk-puppet government schtick but it won't work anymore. This narrative won't fly in the Sahel region anymore.

Burkina Faso grants mining lease to Russia’s Nordgold

Burkina Faso has granted an industrial mining licence to Russian miner Nordgold for a gold project, the military-led West African government said, aiming to capitalize on record-high gold pricesto strengthen an economy hit by insecurity.

The move signals deepening economic ties between Russia and Burkina Faso, as the junta that seized power in 2022 continues its pivot away from traditional Western allies towards Moscow.

The Niou gold deposit, located in the Kourweogo province of Burkina’s Plateau-Central region, covers 52.8 square kilometres (20.4 square miles) within the exploration licence area held by Jilbey Burkina, which is now owned by Nordgold. Nordgold already operates the Bissa and Bouly mines.

At 7:30 am on April 20, over a hundred Burkinabe soldiers emblazoned with BIR3 patches, signifying that they were part of the 3rd Battalion of the Rapid Intervention Brigades, entered Karma on motorcycles and pickups. Eyewitness testimony confirmed the soldiers were part of the BIR3.[7][8][9] The villagers welcomed the soldiers, but grew concerned when they began surrounding Karma.[3][10]

One survivor stated that the soldiers entered civilian homes, rounded up the inhabitants, and took them outside. In the process, the soldiers demanded to see the villagers' IDs, and looted items such as phones and money.[9] The soldiers shot at anyone who attempted to flee or hid in their homes.[3][9]Residents were gathered in the town's main squares and shot, while others were killed in their homes.[6] Women, children, and the elderly were among the victims.[9]

The imam of the village was killed in front of the mosque. A group of 11 people were tied up and blindfolded, then killed on the side of a hill. Another group of primarily women and children were killed in the Moingayiri neighborhood, with some children being as young as 10 days old. Another group of 13 men was killed in a home's courtyard. People that weren’t rounded up in the village hid in their homes; attackers followed them before breaking in the door and killing them. Residents who were injured that attempted to run were killed. The attackers also looted shops, homes, and mosques, stealing valuable items, money, and at least 10 motorcycles.[11][7]

Much of the village was torched by the soldiers, including forty granaries, seventeen barns, and forty homes.[7]The killings lasted until 2:00 pm before the convoy, which was followed by a military helicopter, left for the village of Dinguiri. Later that day, six civilians were killed when the convoy stopped at Dinguiri. Two more were killed in the town of Mene, and another three killed on the road between Ouahigouya and Barga.[12][13][14][8]

Around 30 minutes prior to the massacre, armed Islamists passed through Nondin yelling "Allah Akbar" (God is great). Between 8:30 and 9:00, a military convoy consisting of pickup trucks, motorbikes, and two armored vehicles arrived in the village. The convoy held at least 100 soldiers armed with Kalashnikovs and heavy weaponry.[6] Upon arrival, soldiers went door-to-door ordering residents to show their identity cards and then ordering them to leave their homes. They were then rounded up into groups. Soldiers then indiscriminately opened fire, targeting the groups and villagers attempting to hide or flee.[2][7] A 34-year-old woman who was shot on her leg said that the army accused them of being complicit with jihadists and being uncooperative with the army by not informing them of the jihadists' movements before firing. Forty-four people, including 20 children, were killed in Nondin.[5]

Around an hour later, soldiers arrived at Soro, around 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Nondin. A similar scenario played out, where soldiers rounded up civilians, separated them into groups based on gender, and then shot at them and those who attempted to hide or flee.[8] A villager said that the soldiers called for the residents and began opening fire as people were moving towards them, killing 179, including 36 children and four pregnant women.[2][6]

Some survivors of the attack dug mass graves for most of the victims, compiling two lists of names which were acquired by HRW. Eight graves were dug in Soro and three in Nondin. Other bodies were buried separately as they were recovered days after the massacres.[5]

You want 5000 years of the white man with his boot on yours and everyone else’s neck?

Get this house negro up outta here.
I live in the empire and all my people do.

All that ā€œi want america to fallā€ talk doesn’t take into consideration what happens to us if it does.

i’d rather not have my ethnic group scattered around the world looking for refuge.
That combined with the fact of how the diaspora looks at us i know how we’d be treated if we actually needed help because of how we’re treated when we don’t need help and we help people

I’m good on that. So yes, 5000 years of America please

Living inside the empire with first world amenities and your folks > scavenging around the world that already hates you.

Your point is legit.

However, Burkina Faso is not a threat to you or your people.

The British Empire fell, do British still exist?
The German Empire fell, do Germans still exist?
The Portuguese Empire fell, do Portuguese still exist?
The Italian Empire fell, do Italians still exist?
The Belgian Empire fell, do Belgians still exist?

Just get it over with and admit you love Massa,
bc this is just intellectually lazy US exceptionalism.
