I think promoting self love/pride, etc is key. These mans are suicidal, which shows a level of depression, and other mental health issues. Like kids being 16 and rolling with a dipper and actively saying they don't care if they die. That's not gang life, that's a mental health issue.

Multiple reasons why they get like that, lack of family structure (look at the large majority of these kids who kill or get killed - they only show the mother mourning), lack of well established black role models in the ends and in media (most of these mans look up to rappers, trappers, etc), the schools are a shambles, where most schools only care about staying afloat rather than actually teaching something the kids want to know about, the list goes on.

Also, the media in this country are a fukking joke. That white girl got killed by a white guy, and ALL the attention is on her, showing her caring pictures outside Downing Street. But if it was a black kid who murdered her..lawwwwd have mercy. They would have had his history from when he was born, gang-style pictures, says how he likes grime/trap/drill, all splattered over the TV.

But anyway. RIP to all that died and hope for all those who want to kill

A good post man. Their minds are the main issue that needs to be dealt with, because most of what these kids do is a choice and I'd never try to pretend it isn't. I'm just saying that societal conditions get to the point where it becomes easy to understand why they end up making the wrong choice.

Im sure you remember this post from that thread I made not long ago that made it clear that it was all about choices and mentality. The guy didn't even use the word poverty once.

There definitely many reasons that lead to this mentality. Fathers being absent is a big issue but that is a factor in most cultures and there are many other reasons why a father isnt there either than 'hes a deadbeat'. And the black role models in the media point is so true. Black people have unfortunately been represented mostly by their struggle in the media, to the point that thats all we see. I'll get cussed out for saying this, but I also believe that is the reason upper class black people who aren't the usual stereotype/didnt struggle growing up get seen as 'not black enough' or 'sellouts' sometimes, especially by ignorant people. Looking back Im glad shows like Fresh prince among others were made, cos despite the fukkery in the show, it showed black people with wealth, not just black people in the slums. If all we're gonna see is black people being 'a product of their environment' and the only ones we see making it out are entertainers, athletes and attention-whoring reality stars, then who are gonna end up being our heroes?

And yeah at that white girl getting killed. RIP to her, but they're now bare getting deeper into the debate about (mostly black) kids doing knife crime after a WHITE man killed a WHITE girl. We all remember those pictures of Mark Duggan during the riots. They needed to make it look like he deserved his death even before any information about his life was released. We're unfortuantely the face of violence in the UK even if we haven't been the most violent group over the years. shyt, the IRA did more crime and damage here than these black kids could do in 100 years.

Yeap and with ptsd being the most common symptom type.We are dealing with young men who have pent up rage and frustration.And to make thing even worse is the self medication which creates even more paranoia.Weed is not going to cure the pain. The media machine will continue to paint young black men as the face of criminality and inner city violence.

He should use his platform to speak about the lack of economic opportunities for many of the black people living in the UK and how they’re victims of institutional racism that’s very similar to what black people in America suffer from. But he probably doesn’t want to risk losing those checks from Hollywood.

He wouldn't win at that unfortunately. We're living in the ' you black people love playing the race card' / 'you black people have all the opportunities like everyone else' days.
