It's always been like that. You should see Taco Bell and Popeyes near closing time.
I used to work at a restaurant that served pizza, burgers, and fries. At the end of every closing shift employee went home with food before dumping the rest in the trash. Some days dudes would walk out with a pizza box full of mismatched pizza slices. We'd leave with way too much food and still end up throwing stuff away.
My college roommates loved it because their broke asses would get free food.

Any time it was big eventā¦I usually was on the closing shift. Iād walk out that mf with Pans of pasta, chicken,ribs, etc enough food to feed my family of 5 for a few days. My manager was this old Jewish guy he gave no fukks if we took food home
