He wasn't even "Dilla" then. He was still Jay Dee. And he produced for Pharcyde a year prior. Surely you heard "running" and "drop" in 95. Produced for Skillz in 96 as well. Back then, every producer wasn't shouting their name out on the track or in the videos. At some point in hip hop, the producer became more popular than the rapper
