Kendrick's album really wasn't that good.

I'll go even further and say it was borderline unlistenable. Kendrick has a habit of doing weird things in his music that serve no further purpose than to show how different he is. I respect his technical abilities (best out of the new school) and on songs like "Rigamortus" and "HiiPower" I can be impressed by his potential, but I can easily sit through a K Camp or Future album even if I don't end up liking them. I didn't even get to the 4th song on TPAB before I deleted everything

I could see kendrick not wanting to talk about real issues in interviews becaue the media will always try to take something you said and turn it around. We see it all the time. Id rather let his music speak for itself than some shytty interviewer trying to bait him into saying something that would be a clickbait headline. Also I was waiting for sir biatch to show up.

There isn't anything to get. It's an album influenced by funk and jazz that discusses social issues. If the beats were truly fantastic they would be able to stand up against the best beats of any decade, but they cant. Again, you were giving props to how the production was put together, rather than how than the quality. I don't dislike the album, it's just not as good as advertised.

And yes you do have to wait for time to go by to say it stood the test of time, that's what a test of time is.
