This is tough, they're both really good albums. I'm gonna go with Emancipation of Mimi. Songs were a little more fun and memorable for me.

I was 7, so I didn't really appreciate Butterfly when it came out. Then I was 15, and I remember listening to Emancipation of Mimi in high school. Although I've re-listened to them both in recent years, Emancipation of Mimi is still better to me.

Extremely tough one....but rooftops Fourth of July and breakdown is on butterfly so I gotta go wit it.....but emancipation is probably honestly neck n neck wit it.....real tough one





Edit: gave it more thought and The house music joint, fly away was nice too on butterfly.....but Mimi was a crazy album....so it's still the same...I'm callin tie, it should be a poll option.

Mimi was a hell of a last hurrah but Butterfly was the album that kinda defined 97 from a pop/r&b standpoint. I voted Butterfly.

Recently visited Butterfly for the first time, and this album is incredible brehs. I always loved honey and breakdown, but I was too young when they came out so never thought about checking the whole album out.
