By calling Deion Sanders a sell out, you’re calling every black person that went to a non HBCU a sell out as well.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
They're calling him a sellout because he didn't spend more time working on his vision at JSU. Other than that, every single black person says they would've done the same. :pachaha:

His vision was to win. That’s all he did.

This was his first coaching job, so he wanted to prove he can win.

And yeah, he wanted to uplift HBCU’s, but what people thought would take at least 5 years to happen at a school like JSU only took 1 year.

It seems like people co-oped his vision and trying to play on words and evoking religion when all he was hired for was to coach.

Everything else he did was extra. And there’s 11 other teams in the SWAC. Was he supposed to stay and use his salary to upgrade all of their facilities as well. All of the SWAC coaches make at least $300,000. How many of them are willing to give half their salary to the school to do it?

People saying he should’ve stayed 2 more years. Nothing was going to drastically improve from what he’s already done in two years.

All he did was build the best team in the SWAC which made more people come to games. If people stop showing up next year then they didn’t care in the first place.

And it was the athletic director who hired him. He also hired Mo Williams to coach the basketball team. I don’t see people riding for the basketball team.

So we’re people paying to see and support the sport or were they simply supporting sanders?

This. How are so many people missing this aspect?

I don't know.. I get the frustration because im sure you had black teens in H.S, all over the nation, dreaming of playing for this guy at JSU. I fully understand this.. But at the same time, I don't know how to count this mans money, not know what his debt/income ratio looks like. And absolutely nobody does, no matter how much they claim they do. I wish he could've stayed longer, but I don't have issue with him doing what he needed to do for him and his family.

Exactly. He has full autonomy to do whatever he pleases but I just knew there was no way he'd leave JSU after all the things he said. I wish him well at Colorado and or wherever else he goes though

Seems like you're pointing out black people's appetite for celebrity worship.. If the next coach is black, and can keep the winning ways in tact, we will see if the same support is there.

I don't know how anyone could expect a man called Prime Time to not always strive for exactly that, it's like Money Mayweather not making the money move.

But yea, he shouldn't have talked too much but we all know that the critics would be saying the exact same thing if he kept quiet and just coached.

So in the end, he just gave them more ammo but they would still be shooting any ammo they had.

Now to use my Coli agent hat, question is if he would wait for a few years more if his son was younger until a non-trash school gave him the contract or if he could wait in any event. Seems like he jumped at the first shot.
