I've seen a lot of posters describe industry plants as people who blew up out of nowhere without working to get to that position.

Kendrick, J Cole and even Drake had mixtapes out before their time. However, Fetty Wap?

Did he even have a single track before he blew up? Did ANYONE know of him before 2015?

So he's technically a plant, right?:mjpls:

I thought trap queen was around for a long while before he blew

"Trap Queen" is the debut single by American rapper Fetty Wap from his self-titled debut album (2015). Following its online premiere in March 2014

That's still, by Coli definition, an industry plant. Especially considering other rappers had at least a mixtape before blowing

A lot of this industry plant stuff is nonsense. A lot of people have been grinding for years before they got their push.

The major labels just have the infrastructure to push them over the edge marketing wise.

One of the artists I'm doing creative direction for right now is technically an industry plant but there's no gurantees he's gonna blow up.
