Once you move past the Twitter nonsense, the ADOS vs. Black Feminism agendas, or whatever else is going on here, then this issue is really pretty simple:
White, black, or otherwise, if you get caught raping someone then you need to be locked up. Crying “
but they do it too
!” is the tactic of children and if it doesn’t work for them, then it shouldn’t work for full-grown adults.
I'm not saying that's what you're doing OP, or even what #FirstThem is supposed to be about. But for some - and I emphasize
some, not all - people, unfortunately, it's less a call to punish white perpetrators of crimes (e.g. rape), and instead a thinly-veiled reasoning as to why black people should get away with it.
I agree that there’s a double standard in how white and black people who commit crimes are treated, and that the former gets often gets away with it while the latter doesn’t. And I’m all for addressing that.
But that doesn’t mean I’m going to

for a rapist or pedophile just because he’s black, especially if they’re preying on other black people. Wrong is wrong, and needs to be punished all the same.
