First, even 15 years out, that's aggressive, we're nowhere near where we should be with the number of manufactures offering a wide range of EV cars to supply the entire demand for new car sales/leases.

Secondly, is the state going to pay for everyone to have charging stations installed at their homes? Apartment buildings with 100's-1000's of cars, how many charging stations will they have? Mom and pop landlords - will they be demanded to install them?

This should've been a ballot initiative at minimum.

I think its doable tbh. EV development is in hyperdrive right now. The EU moving towards this put everyone on notice. Every manufacturer will have an appropriately sized EV lineup by then.

The charging solution will be more difficult however.

It's something to shoot for though. Cali is probably going to need help with their grid in the meantime as well.

Cali is going to screw themselves out of being able to set their own standards at this rate

I think it's elitist and will only create more inequality because housing and public transport aren't close to making this practical for them middle/working class

I also read in one of the articles today that came out about this is that they still allow fracking in Cali! wtf

I'm a car guy so it bothers me on that level as well but the above are my main takeaways
