Lol that’s not true. ‘Africa’, as a whole, had no singular name for the continent before the popularization of the term ‘Africa’. ‘Alkebulan’ is Arab in origin and Arabs are from West Asia.

The etymology of the word ‘Africa’ is not wholly certain but certain Romans called themselves ‘Africanus’, like Scipio Africanus, because they had some important tie to Africa.
