You see this play out on a daily basis. The first comment presents him as a coward abandoning his child, so people refuse to see the father creating distance between the threat and son, removing the threat and then taking his son to safety.

Quite interesting when you look at it from this angle. This is how “they” identify those who can be manipulated.
