I was rocking one of my vintage 90's era Biggie Coogi sweaters yesterday. Some of y'all nikkas might laugh, but I get most compliments when I'm rocking them from bytches :takedat:and bytches are harder to impress with gear because women ain't hypebeast fuccbois like men can be. Anyway, this cac came up to me and said "nice Cosby sweater, those used to be like $500 a pop, but ever since Cosby was found guilty, the value has gone way down on those" :mjpls:. I couldn't believe the nerve of this cac. I said "no, Coogi sweaters are still $600 brand new retail". :sas2: The funny thing is that white people always call a Coogi a "Cosby sweater" when Jello Bill never even rocked Coogi. Bill had his own designer. A lot of the sweaters Bill actually rocked were hella weird and look nothing like a Coogi. People rock Coogi because of Biggie. And Coogi comes from the 90's era when nikkas and cacs dressed nothing alike because there was no internet style blogs, no multicultural suburban fuccboi hypebeast culture, no online shopping and you had white malls and black malls to shop at. nikkas was on Phat Farm, Mecca, Fubu, Pelle Pelle and hella black owned brands as well as the high end shyt that only the hood rocked like that (i.e. Coogi, Avirex, Iceberg).

But cacs really have completely destroyed Bill Cosby legacy to the point where rocking a fresh ass Coogi sweater is an insult in their presence. :what:

Cosby didn't wear coogie sweaters

https://fashionista.com/2013/07/bil...ent-so-we-talked-to-the-guy-who-designed-them

Now it's getting its own "tournament" on Bill Cosby's website where fans vote on their favorite Bill Cosby sweater.

Some people think that those sweaters were designed by Australian knitwear brand Coogi (yes, as in "Every cutie wit a booty bought a Coogi")--but those people are wrong. The man behind the best of those sweaters is actually Dutch designer Koos van der Akker, who has been in business since 1965. And while he may be known for designing the "Cosby Sweater," he's also dressed stars like Cher, Elton John, and Barbara Walters, and had a line for QVC from 1998 to 2006 called "Koos of Course!" (Of course!)

We hopped on the phone with van der Akker to see how he feels about all this sweater-hype twenty years after the show went off the air--and surprisingly, he's totally fine with his creations being used as the inspiration behind "ugly sweater" parties.
