This fakkit was getting more shows, i mean like festival spots, after the whole Pac fiasco.
Post Malone already exemplified how far the culture's gon off the deep end. Dude got big, then starts dissing hip hop itself, acting like its all ignorant or whatever, as if there aren't rappers who make conscious or soulful shyt that touches the soul. Yet people still fukk with him. It's no surprise the pop audience don't give af, but when shyt like that happens it is the DUTY of people inside hip-hop to call 'em out.
When the legends and figureheads, not one but several, get on a fakkit's neck they are toast. At the end of the day, even the pop audience looks to the "core" culture as a reference, then tries to put a cac in there as a stand-in (e.g., Slim Jesus, Iggy Azalea, Eminem). But if they're rejected they lose momentum because they're seen as uncool (e.g., Iggy Azalea). The same should have happened to Post Malone, and more should have been said about Xan. Outrage by a couple gossipy nikkas and media outlets only gave him publicity, but if everyone called him out he'd be where Iggy is right now.
Making money off a culture but then disrespecting it or not giving back—to me is what makes a culture vulture.
