stealing is stealing man.
A product is a product.
Doesnt matter if its physical or digital.

If I steal from you, you don't have someting any more. I have taken it from you, depriving you of it.
Stealing is a crime because (as with all legitamate crimes) there is a victim.

If I make a copy of something in your posession, now we both have one.
You are not victimized or inconvienienced. Do you see the difference?

Theft. I take your car while you are in the house. You don't have a car anymore, impacting your life.
Robbery. I seperate you from your car then take it. You don't have a car anymore and possibly suffer harm, greatly impacting your life.
Piracy. I make a copy of your car. Now we both have a car. Most likely you don't even know the event took place.

Nowhere near the same thing.

lol at this. its stealing. your defenition of stealing is flawed or you are trying to make what you do seem ok. it aint. we've all done it. it is what it is. dont make it like it aint what it is.

stealing music = stealing someone's artwork that they have for sale elsewhere. that is stealing. the more you steal the less money they can make off of their artwork. how is that so hard to understand.

its stealing. period. point blank.

piracy = you stole something that i created and have a price point on said object that you refused to pay but still want my product.

you ever heard of spies stealing the plans to some secret army stuff. in reality they dont have the only copy. but they are still stealing. because they were not given said plans, nor did they purchase said plans. so they took it upon themselves to make a copy or steal a copy of it. its stealing. period. if you didnt create it and the artist who did sales it at a price that you refuse to pay but you take it anyway. You're stealing.

This is why I said I'd rather not argue with you. Its explaining multiplication and division to someone who doesn't yet understand addition and subtraction... so I have to start way at the begininng, and I'd rather not really. The first hurdle would be getting you to understand the semantics of ownership.

If you are still in possession of something, it has not been stolen from you.

This is why immaterial things and abstractions (Music, Colors, Emotions, Memories, Ideas, etc) cannot be stolen only duplicated. They still exist in their original context under their previous ownership. They have simply been reproduced and now a second person shares their use and benifet. A non tangible non-finite object like a song or a password or an idea cannot be stolen, because it is merely knowledge. The original owner still has the knowledge, they have just lost sole control of it.

Someone could physically steal a Compact Disc from your possession, certainly. But merely copying the contents is not stealing, from you or anyone else.
