One thing that always boggled me in general, and he touches on it in the song, is the images we have of Christian deities and disciples and the like. I mean, according to the Bible, they looked nothing like what they’re presented to the world as, they literally give us a description of how they looked. Why would people just knowingly and without any regard for the actual literature that constitutes their entire belief system, totally make them look a whole different color with different hair texture and all that? Like why not just show them how the book describes them? What valid reason can someone give for that other than white superiority/racism? It’s crazy how this isn’t addressed more…considering it’s the worlds biggest religion.
Song sparked my curiosity as a kid to want to learn and read and get into the sciences, from social to behavioral to natural science, and it’s kept me on that til now. Prior to that record, exaggerating a little bit, my mind was all Mobb Deep type energy.
