North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
That's because they were too busy terrorizing black people which seems to not count for anything in their eyes.

And maybe, just maybe, there wasn't a fascination with guns like there is today. There's weren't auto or semi automatic weapons flooded all over the place either. The military didn't have all of their excess/old inventory to he police.

And as far as the second amendment is concerned.

There has always been a "gun culture" in all colonial territories for centuries now.

All these lands were taken and maintained by the force of arms.

Its gonna be hard to remove that element from the culture

The Cleveland Elementary School shooting is a school shooting that took place on January 29, 1979, at a public elementary school in San Diego, California, United States. The principal and a custodian were killed; eight children and police officer Robert Robb were injured. A 16-year-old girl, Brenda Spencer, who lived in a house across the street from the school, was convicted of the shootings. Charged as an adult, she pleaded guilty to two counts of murder and assault with a deadly weapon, and was sentenced to life in prison with a chance of parole after 25 years.

A reporter reached Spencer by phone while she was still in the house after the shooting, and asked her why she committed the crime. She reportedly answered: "I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day,"[1][2] which inspired Bob Geldof and Johnnie Fingers to write the Boomtown Rats song "I Don't Like Mondays".[3]
"I don't like Mondays" = "I don't like n****rs"

You couldn't buy guns as easily in the 60s and 70s like now. Guns everywhere today.

Also Hollywood started the gun culture we see today. Back then most people who had guns had a hunting rifle or shotgun or a simple handgun.
Then with the popularity of action movies in the 80s and 90s were stallone and schwarzenegger and them was gunning down bad guys with ARs people wanted those types of weapons too. From there the gun "culture" we see today took off and keeps growing. None of this shyt is about defending from tyranny or whatever people want to tell themselves but just gun, ammo and accessory makers wanting to keep making profits and culture war

All made possible by modern-day media and marketing. Something that wasn't around in the 60s and 70s. It going from bad to worse.

totally wrong, you could mail order guns and pay cash on delivery until '68, automatics were banned in '86, there were no background checks until '93, military surplus guns were common back then and don't exist now (all surplus m9s/m4s get destroyed)

This is true but yet people was not gun crazy. Most what you're seeing in today's gun culture started in the 80s.
