Obama Facing Criticism For Not Showing Up At Paris Unity Rally

As a demonstration of solidarity with the people of France and the slain cartoonists, leaders from around the world attended a unity march in Paris last week. Notably absent was President Barack Obama. In fact, no prominent member of the Obama Administration was at the march even though Attorney General Eric Holder was in France to discuss security issues in the wake of the terrorist attacks that took many lives including those of cartoonists at Charlie Hebdo and were the catalyst for the rally.

There was also a demonstration in sympathy with the unity march in Washington D.C. organized by the French government that drew notorious State Department official Victoria Nuland but no Obama nor Vice President Joe Biden. Secretary of State John Kerry kept his scheduled trip to India.

The unity rally in Paris was no small affair and included German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, Jordanian King Abdullah, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Needless to say, America’s absence was noticed.

The White House responded to the criticism by noting that the US Ambassador to France, Jane Hartley, did attend the unity rally. Hartley, like many US ambassadors to Western Europe, got her appointment by fundraising for President Obama’s political campaign and is unrecognizable to her fellow Americans let alone to a world audience looking for a symbol of American solidarity with France and the right to free expression.

So what’s the real reason for no prominent member of the Obama Administration attending the unity rally?

Update: From the Associated Press: White House says it “erred in not sending higher level official to anti-terror march in Paris”

:banderas:Between this, the next Attorney General being black, and that free community college thing he did this past week seems like he is finally on his "Not giving a fukk steeze what cacs think steeze." He is on his second term anyway. Damned if he do, damned if he don't. He was blamed for the deaths of those two NYPD officers, criticized for sending two White House representatives to Mike Brown's funeral, and criticized for speaking out on Trayvon. He's giving these cacs a taste of their own medicine.

Americans all of a sudden care about the French when they've been shytting on them for decades, even though they wouldn't even have this country if it weren't for the French. Now they all of a sudden want to stand in solidarity with the French only because of their common bigotry and hate towards Muslims.

Edit: i forgot all about those stupid overly patriotic cacs and their "freedom fries" nonsense instead of french fries :russ:

It's not about "not giving a fukk". It's being smart and not getting caught up in this bullshyt that all happened because some smug disrespectful white supremacists wanted to be controversial and got a bunch of people murked.
"Barack should've been smart and not got caught up in defending that thug who assaulted that good American gentleman Mr. Zimmerman":troll:

And also it gives them another reason to direct fake outrage towards Obama.

Politics is a trip. Then everyday there are stories of Romney thinking of going for the 3rd run. Must be nice.

The irony... They shytted on France when France disagreed about going to war with Iraq. France for more than one decade has been shytting on us.

They even shytted on both Obama and France when Obama said France was our greatest ally. Now they love France all of a sudden.
