What are your guys impressions on Steel Cage matches, considering Hell in a Cell has the Chain Link. Do prefer the old school blue bars, or the modern version?

Chain link looks more deadly, plus as a kid I always was confused on why the wrestlers would have a hard ass time climbing out the blue cage with the way its designed you have better footholds and its more stable.

i prefer the reg chain...in retrospect the blue cage was made speciffically for wrestlemania 2 because of Bundy since he was to heavy to climb the reg cage, and than they just kept it since it stood out
Never knew the cage was designed just for the WM2 match with Hogan. I was only 1 when WM2 took place but in retrospect I never understood why they just sacrificed Bundy to Hogan like that. He seemed like he could have been a monster hell and Hogan basically squashed him at WM2.

breh bundy was being built for a year ...its not like he got a push right away...he did the 5 sec gimmick , won at mania one, than after they had tag matches between Bundy and Big John Studd and Hulk Hogan and andre...Bundy broke Andre leg, than they had Bundy break Hogans ribs on Saturday Nights main event

problem bundy wasnt that good in the ring anyway, which why he had the big fall off---main eventing wrestlemania 2, to ending up in a 6 man midget match at Mania 3

Back in the day when NWA and WWF were at the helm I always preferred the chain linked fence. The blue bars seemed easier for them to climb out of, but the fence just looked more rugged, and based off the matches early in the 80s with Dusty, Flair, War Games, etc...

the chain link fence ran its course its not as dangerous anymore and will always be compared to the hell in a cell, at least in the blue cage wrestlers could stick arms and legs through the steel bars and do sharpshooters or arm holds
