The song Hell's Winter is pretty dope to me. I actually never heard the rest of the album but maybe I should check for it.

I thought it was a solid album. Cage moved on from a wannabe thug rapper to having at least some substance in his material. I still have it in rotation sometimes, Good Morning NY is especially vicious.

Terrible album. I remember giving it multiple listens but shyt was wack to me. Dude turned all weird after this shyt too I think or was it during?

I love this album. Post 9/11 rap from a grown up Cage.

it was AFTER this that I couldn't stand his music.

But I can't hate him for growing up.

His backlash has been worse.

this was his balance.

Album caught me off-guard back then. Never expected Cage to make that type of transformation and it had that Def Jux futuristic-dystopian sound which was so fukking ill

i don't think gj is crazy slept on, they have a pretty solid fanbase. they're just an acquired taste. i'm a bigger fan of HA but agree daryl is that dude.

I just don't know what happened after this lp. How do you find yourself (Hells Winter) only to lose yourself again (DFM, Kill the Architect)? It sounds backwards but to me the inconsistencies in his music came shortly after the praise of Hell's Winter. It really seems like he is trying to balance what the fans want and demand of him image wise while musically trying to grow. (not to say his new shyt isn't dark but nowhere near the level of his earlier releases).Depart From Me surprised me (not in a good way ) especially after he dropped the INKY EP (which was good). Hopefully he still has another good project in him.

People have moods and shyt they get on and off.

Personally I like the moody alternative Cage better than the rapper cage.
