They give out those metaphorical passes all over the country. All it comes down to is if they like the person enough or not. So any one, and I mean anyone, can end up with a so called pass. This is even the case when it is found out that the person with the so called pass is as racist as a southern Klan member.Example: Jay Worthy of LNDN DRGS is South Asian Indian, raised in Canada & is the stepbrother of Grimes.
Do brehs on the W. Side give Asians a “pass” to say nikka?
My opinion, that pass is bullshyt. That is another reason why I don't use any combination of the n-word for myself or my people.

No non-Black has a universal pass to say the n-word.
We need to dead the perception that California Blacks give all season passes to non-Blacks to use that word.
BUT ..
There are situations where individual Blacks give personal passes to their non-Black homies due to the level of rapport they have towards one another.
You may have a non-Black who grew up around Black people, gained Black friends or a few may have joined a gang and adopted the language/slang of the group.
In that case, non-Blacks may get a pass, but it is ONLY from their homies, not strangers.
So no, Asians do NOT get a pass and typically the ones who is using that word is involved in the streets. The majority of Asians don't even fukk with Black people like that, especially where I live. They are either in their own enclaves, communities or they intermingle with white folks.
So, in that case, they get treated like white people when it comes to the n-word and will get checked by someone if they use it.

These threads always kill me. I feel like there's a mirror being held up, and for some strange reason folks can't see how dumb it is to have that word in their vocabulary, not to mention fight for it like it's sacred. I think it was Charleston White who was going at it with Asian crips over the word if memory serves me? What stood out to me with that whole fiasco, was how ignorant the Asians looked calling themselves nikkaz. Just poor vocabulary and ignorance. The irony is they're imitating us and we're mad at them for it. I mean 
what if it is a person like you who brags about his european mixture?

From the outside looking in this seems more specific to the Bay (Oakland) where some Southeast Asians grow up in proximity with us. I don't think LA cats are doing that.
