The weather thing is bullshyt in LA, unless you're near the beach. You start getting towards the Valley, it's miserable 6 months out of the year. I also didn't think people were slimmer and more attractive, which is what I thought it would be when I moved there. I'm glad I left.

In what way?

I have kids so it was tough to take them out to do anything during the summer months. There were a few days it got up to 110. It seemed pretty common to have 90 degree days for much of the year. That heat when there's never a cloud in the sky is brutal too. Then in the Valley, you'd get a 95 degree day, then down to 55 at night. The swings were crazy.

The state is an artificial construct...not a good or bad thing...it just is.

The state is half a desert, and without the pipelines reservoirs, and dams that transport and store water, much of these areas with humans living on it would not be habitable, and then the Central Valley which provides a huge amount of the U.S. vegetable produce could not harvest anything.

The next thing is that because habitable land is scarce, but the population continues to grow, there are planning and environment regulations in place that zone where develooment can occur. Mountains take away developable land too. If they just allow developers to build unabated in the Central Valley then it would fill up quickly, and all that agricultural would be gone.

It allows undocumented immigrants to stayg and utilize resources too.

THANK YOU! My job takes me to San Diego every quarter and every time I go there it's a cloudy overcast. Hell, last time I went it was nicer and warmer in DC than it was the week I stayed in San Diego (which was in January). and a majority of the hispanics I saw were built like boxes. The food is to die for though.

SF was one of my favorite cities for the shirt time I lived there. It's a shame how expensive it has become.

SF is just so damned charming.

The Golden Gate Bridge, Fishermans Wharf, Marina district, ChinaTown, several parks and green spaces, diversity, slim women, ferry boat tours, the weather.

Every time I go there it feels like a place that I could call home...

But then I look at those home/rental prices....

:picard:

I just don't see how you can make less than $300-$350k and live there comfortably.

I know why the bay area is expensive. it's the same as manhattan. a lot of rich people competing for a very limited housing stock on what is essentially an island.

but los angeles, I have NO IDEA why housing cost so much there.

We could afford to get rid of some farmland. Most of these farmers over produce anyways and to much of it gets thrown away.

Can't wait for the crash

a crash must happen. IF these prices dont get lowered, forget about a middle class. Even skilled career workers are getting priced out. The population in Cali must decrease as well. And these banks need to be held accountable in all of this.
