Soooo, I was chllin tonight and out the blue a chick I used to mess around with about 3 or 4 months ago at the start of the year called me.

I answered, chatted for a couple minutes. So she went on to say, she just got a check up and she tested positive for HPV.

And I asked why she was telling me that... She said she had only been with me and another dude since her last check up last year.

I can't remember if I hit it raw... smh.

So my question is, HPV isnt anything to be worried about right? If I strapped up I can't catch it right?

I tested negative before the beginning of the year during my physical/check-up. *SIGH* Hope I'm not a carrier.

I freaked out a bit, but she told me it's not a big deal for dudes, but shes at risk for cervix cancer... blah blah

U dont test positive for hpv.

The test would be like being told hey u have coli flower growing in your p*ssy do you want to do something about it.

She told u because if u smashed recently, in particular unprotected u probably have it....but obviously I won't know till u know.

Yeah she told me to "inform me" but I felt like she was tryna blame me for it. Like she's worried about possibly getting cervical cancer. I just wasnt tryna hear it.

Good I'm gonna research it more, just most places I look online give extremes about it. One site will have information alluding to it being bad, and another will say we all have it...

HPV is not harmless to dudes. You can get warts outbreaks and it will compromise your immune system. Added to that any woman you get with later in life will contract the virus and be at much higher risk for cervical cancer and their ability to bear children will be severely hampered. Not to mention cancers of the mouth and throat should any oral be done. The good news is there is an HPV vaccine but I am not sure if its a curing vaccine or a prevention one AND there is an age limit for the vaccines effectiveness. There is more good news, most infections go away on their own. But not all. Get checked ASAP and treat this as serious as if it was HIV.

Depending on what strain you possibly have it could be something you don't have to worry about or something you will have to keep in check.

Like some people said, it's a lot more dangerous to women, so if you do have it, then you could end up passing it along and messing up other women's health.
