Call me crazy, but I thought getting millions of dollars to play a professional sport should be more important than the city you are in

He is one of the chosen few walking this earth that gets to call his shot. Whatever you think life should be is what it should be for someone like you.
Actually it's the other way around.

Because he is a "chosen one" (what a dikk sucking term btw :mjlol:) he can try playing in best league in the world on the league's terms. Unlike a regular 9 to 5 breh who can pick and choose between hundreds of similar jobs, there is only one NBA.

They can even be petty and if he refuses to play they'll just keep his contract and block him from playing anywhere else in the nba

Then he can go to euro leagues to play where he wants. He can play for real Madrid or Barcelona on sunny Spanish beaches bangin world class hoes if that's what he wants to do.

The whole point of closed off league drafts like NBA and NFL is to keep shyt competitive and spread talent around.

If anyone can just go anywhere then get rid of the draft and salary cap. Do it like euro soccer leagues. Ones with biggest bag will always get the best players.

Eventually. We talking hot shot young dudes just starting out. In any other field they can go where they want with no limit on what they can make.
They can say fukk u to the draft and the nba and go to play for euro clubs and make more than they would on nba rookie contracts.

Like I've said, rookie contract payscale, drafts and salary cap are all part of a closed off "best" league that is nba or nfl.

Euro sports leagues don't do that shyt. It's a free for all open market.

It's not the lack of options. It's that they want to have cake and eat it too. Not only play in the league that has the most elite talent but also play on their own terms.

These are people just like you and me. I have received offers to make damn near twice what I make now but I would need to move to north Alabama.

I do not want to live in north Alabama so I turned them down.

You know nikkas ain’t lining up to live in a city where the majority of the people follow a religion where e color of your skin is a curse from god.

We have to work year round. NBA players do not.

He could easily afford an off-season home in any city he really wants to live in. Many foreigners in the NHL and MLB do this for their true homes in other countries, so he has no real excuse.

The culture of "giving ultimatums and forcing your way to go where you want to play " has always been odd to me. You are literally a millionaire playing a game 99% of the world plays for fun, I don't get it?

A Sixers reporter just mentioned that Markelle Fultz would not even work out for the Sixers if there was not a guarantee that they were drafting him. Yes I know this is not a new phenomenon. Kobe forced his way out of the Hornets drafting him, Steve Francis forced his way out of the Vancouver Grizzlies, etc

But it always seemed odd to me

You’re getting paid millions no matter what city you go to, so that’s irrelevant.
