Just comes off as insecure after a certain age in my opinion.

Odds are that insults you throw at others would insult you to some degree if they were thrown at you.
If you're secure with your sexuality someone calling you gay should be on the same level as them calling you short and fat if you were tall and fit.

And I'm guessing if someone actually was gay they wouldn't be insulted either unless you called them a "fakkit" which is on a similar level as someone calling someone black a "******" because they are not secure with themselves as individuals so they latch on to white supremacy so they can compensate. I feel like homophobia is very similar.

Yes, let's discuss the ethics of insults. No sarcasm. There are way more accurate things you can say to tear someone down. However, people get lazy.

I appreciate a good roast but the best insults are witty and lined with some truth. I'm not too pc about jokes but If you wanna insult someone then why dehumanize someone else?

i agree a little because i hate insulting someone and at the same time offending other people who have nothing to do with the person i have a problem with. makes me feel uneasy.

but sometimes it's hard to resist cause it's just too funny. sometimes it's the context or the sound of it that's funny. so you say it anyway.

Feel you on the uneasiness that's the perfect word to describe it. I think being insulted or bullied to some degree is healthy growing up though. Teaches people how to roll with the punches and prepares them for the real world. People who never get roasted tend take everything to heart and get in their own heads once shade is finally thrown at them
