All I know is when I listen to Diplomatic Immunity, I am not waiting on a Cam'ron verse to drop...I think Juelz Santana and Jim Jones were better for that type of music...
I know Cam'ron is a more polished rapper than Juelz and Jones, but the later two just had that "it'" factor for me...
For example, listen to "beautiful noise"...While Cam'ron is going on about some random silly punchlines, Jim Jones is rapping about that "pain of the struggle" and the imagery is just too real and raw, because he was not a polished rapper...
Another example, Santana on "Who am I?" Cam'ron has never spat some mood music like that (maybe to you, he has, because you obviously a fan), to me, all I hear is "oogly, googly, woogly computer putin" when I listen to Diplomats Cam'ron...
Then you have Hell Rell on "This is what I do" The song that actually made me want to download Diplomatic Immunity...
Then Jim's adlib swagger on "Bout it Bout it" straight uncut piff...
Just listen to "family ties" 40 and Hell Rell bring it, and Cam'ron spits his usual silly borderline corny punchlines...
Cam'ron had the LEAST swagga and flash among the Diplomat's starting line up...
yes, he was the most experienced and polished rapper in the team, but the other's rawness and style made Cam'ron's style unappealing to me...
Just my opinion...
Cam'ron was a better rapper when he was doing that shock rapping like "confessions"...
Now that's the Cam'ron I give any credibility to...
