If I were playing devil advocate. I'd say the protection of the knee is the red herring. Overlooking the fact he should have dove on the ball from the hash and that avoids hurting the knee. So if he didn't want to dive from the hash and decided to run over there/pick it up its because he was trying to protect his shoulder. I see that point of view more, if I'm going to call him a bytch
