This is why this entire fiasco is a clown show led by a clown with a goofy hot take. Now (as I'm sure he's thrilled to see), this whole shyt has devolved i to bickering about and between the media figures making the arguments instead of the player they're arguing about.

Ryan Clark vs Cam Newton, with people attacking Cam Newton's career. You could never in a million years from reading that sentence deduce that this stems from the reaction to the play of Jalen Hurts. This is manufactured sports talk garbage.

I understand what Cam is saying, Jalen is a great QB but not elite physically. A little above average arm strength, not the biggest or fastest. I mean Josh Allen, Burrow, Lamar even Herbert, who I don't believe is a top ten QB are heavy on tangibles. Probably 70% to 30% intangibles. Hurts is almost the total opposite, mostly intangibles. Cam won with brute physicality so his views on QB will be shaped by that. Jalen might be the strongest QB in the league though.

The thing is, the talking heads called out Jalen Hurts a lot last year because in their eyes, he wasn't doing enough statistically with the talent surrounding him (he still isn't, but the point is to win the game).

AJ Brown said that the passing aspect was an issue, even when they were winning. The offensive line came out early last season and said the offense needs to go through the running game first and foremost.

Then you go back and look at Hurts' statistics from the bye week on compared to the first four weeks of the season... and you see the difference.

If anyone were to point to all of that and say "Jalen Hurts isn't a top 10 QB because the Philadelphia Eagles became the best version of themselves when they figuratively took the ball out of his hands, and no team with a legitimate top 10 QB would run an offense meant to keep that QB from throwing the ball", I could see why they felt that way.

And T.O. took the same route everybody else did and shat on Cam for not diving on that fumble in the Super Bowl. That's all anybody will ever have on him. The main reason Cam didn't fire off on T.O. is that the basis of a lot of his "petty" retorts was rooted in Cam having accomplished more than those who came at his neck.

So I don't know if Eagles still get it, specially if Cam doesn't have heart for the shove. SB last year, yes but that was also the most dominant Philly game (and 4th quarter vs wsh). People forget that they had a close fight with LA and that they were kinda average vs GB
