No idea what album you're referring to but it's virtually impossible to pinpoint when an album actually shipped gold/plat.
The RIAA audit doesn't even start until the label/artist pays for it. When the audit is completed = when it's certified.
Look at Wayne for example. He had 10+ certifications posted on the same day, September 27th, 2022. Has nothing to do with when they actually shipped that amount.

There's a million Hip Hop albums that didn't sell, but are undeniably classic. And there's mad albums that sold a lot of records, but are nowhere close to being "classic". It's about quality with classics, not quantity.

i got albums that r classics to me and dont care what they sold... some after i found what gold n platinum was and before i knew what it was.. i could careless.. long as it sound good to me
