They kinda did it to themselves. They priced out the regular nikka when they built that stadium. Francesa rails about this all the time. The seats down low are always empty because everyone is inside eating or chilling. Meanwhile the average nikka can't afford the tickets, and now that the team is struggling to put a winning product on the field, there's no incentive to go. But like I said, that can change quick if they throw $500 mil at Bryce Harper.

Yankees losing off the field as slump deepens

So now the NY post is claiming that the Mets run the city now. Is this true? :ohhh:

Everyone loves a winner. You know how many The City Warriors hats I see when I walk down the street? :francis:

The Mets were in the WS last year and are a contender this year(even though they're getting ravaged with injury so far) and the Yanks are bad. Really bad. If both are good, the Yankees are more popular(see the 2000 Subway Series).

:mjlol: at people saying the article is wrong when it came with cold hard FACTS...

Yankees ratings dropped, while Mets ratings increased :sas1:

Yankees road attendance dropped, while Mets road attendance increased :sas1:

One thing that is interesting to note is the 2015 WS had the highest ratings since the 2009 WS which was the last time the Yankees was in the WS :sas2:

Even I can't cosign this lol. in the mid 70' until 84, shea was a ghost town. Yankees ran the city, and the Yankees took it back over by 93 after the Mets ran the city in the 80's.

Yeah son forgot about those times the Yanks was in the World Series in the late 70s and weren't they in it in 1981? It was a Mets town from probably late 1984 till the time the Yanks started getting back right in the mid 90s

The Yankees are about to enter a time where they're gonna be Knicks level bad. That hasn't happened in a quarter century. They're gonna take a hit no matter how you slice it and the Mets are gonna reap the rewards as a new generation of fans become kooky Mets supporters.

That's how life goes

Yankees could be this bad and the Mets could be this good for 20 more years and I still don't think the Mets take over the city.

Till these perennial fukkups win a championship this subject is :camby:status...
How can you run the city when you haven't won a championship for the city since Ronald Reagan was president? :what:

How many times the Muts make the playoffs in the last 20 years? 4 times? :russ:

The Yankees in that same time span got 5 championships for the city including one where we spanked these fukkbois in 5 games...

We got more championships than they have mothfuking playoff appearances my nikka but they run the city because its been 7 years since the Yankees won a championship...:what:

I've made threads about this for the past 2 years. Yankees brand is stale and headed towards irrelevancy like the Celtics, Dodgers in the 90s, etc. few reasons

-new stadium/gentrification... priced out Joe Beerguy and replaced with hipsters from Iowa and corporate wall street shytheads
-lack of star power, gone are the Jeter's, Bernie Williams, Marino's of the world.
-MLB doesnt have sizzle anymore
-Yanks/Red Sox rivalry is completely dead.
