Damn sad shyt, but I guess the good thing is you know more about your history.
Yeah, I would just like to know more of their history for those who were enslaved pre mid 1800's. Those names are not easy to research, thus always hitting roadblocks in these cases.

Yup , back to the late 1700s on my maternal grandmothers side. Probably the same or further on my maternal grandfather's side, but he drowned before passing the info down.

We even know the white man who raped my great great great......(However many greats?) Grandma and how their offspring (a girl) lived as a white passing field nikka.

Kudos to my elders for keeping thorough records

Yes, we have a family tree. Doing some digging on our family name across a few trees and this matches. He took on the last name of a slaveowner Henderson Judd who freed his slave children and then was killed by the Klan.
