Can anyone help with a possible legal situation?

I have a friend that works somewhere and the place is owned by some Indian people. On more than one occasion, there have been people that come in to apply for a job there and the store manager, who is Indian, made it very clear that he did not want to hire them because they were black. Also, once, someone called in and asked if they were hiring and when the store manager was asked about it, he said something to the effect of 'is it a white person asking.'

Also, the owner of the store recently told someone that the blacks that applied to work there were not 'qualified' to do so. There is one black person employed there out of everyone though there are only about ten people total and all the others over time were either fired or quit. Store has only been open for two years this coming February. I know that these people are discriminatory toward blacks, but is this kind of thing something that they could be sued over?

Yeah if you applying for a job its law no discrimination. All you need is proof.

There are at least two people currently working there that can describe the things i posted in the original post. Do you know if it has to be the person that got fired or denied employment or how does that work?

It's illegal to discriminate on the basis of race, but that can be hard to prove in court.

Might be worth having some black applicants record his remarks so you have concrete evidence.
