I'm convinced that this is the new way companies sell your data. By letting it get "hacked".
Am I wrong? Too damn cynical?
If they wanted to sell your data they’d just bake the rights to do so in a 40 page EULA like they do now.
Hacking is real, there’s a reason why you lock your car doors, house door, and etc because you want to stop people from entering your personal spaces and removing items.
The thing that makes cyber-security so difficult is that people don’t have to be physically there to try to breach you, they could be anywhere in the world trying to pick your door lock or checking to see if the window is cracked and make entry.
The other thing is that you never know where the next threat is coming from so you have to be prepare for practically anything. This is not to justify the breach because it’s unacceptable but hacking is stealing and stealing is human nature.
