If food is a trend to you then you aren’t an actual foodie.

How on earth can food realistically be a trend?

:dahell:

Sounds like a reality in rich wealthy world.

It's on a population level, not an individual level.

For example Sloppy Joes used to be extremely popular in the 80s and 90s, but people rarely make them now. Same with Sunny D.

Yes some people lose interest in certain foods after eating it for long extended periods in which their taste buds no longer find it appetizing.

There was one time for about two months I got tired of eating chicken whether it was baked, fried, stewed, grilled it didn't matter I just got sick of it.

However if you're just referring to the popularity of certain foods...yes over time certain food, snack, drink or alcohol beverages looses popularity within a certain segment of consumers...which means there are people that'll never lose interest in a certain product no matter the time but there are others that will...again it comes down to taste buds.

Definitely food trends and dietary trends. Look at right now everyone is on that Keto wave restaurants are rolling out Keto friendly menus and dishes, but in a couple years people won’t care and those menus will be gone. Food trends also seem to follow the “benefits” of something...like avocado or coconut oil

Banquet used to make these good ass honey bbq wings, microwave style. I'd legit pick my grocery story by whoever carried them.

So eventually the sorry ass accountants took over and started shorting the ingredients. They got worse and worse and worse until I couldn't stand eating them, they were that bad.

there definitely are trends - like the whole low fat thing in the 80's/90's. i remember margarine being a thing, now it's about real butter from grass fed cows, coconut and olive oil, full fat yogurt, etc, don't remember the last time i saw a stick of margarine.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
There are trends of popularity with certain foods, though. Like how Thai food has gotten increasingly popular over the years even in areas with little to no Thai people living there.

With who?

Most black people I know haven’t made Thai food a trend.

It does seem to be popular for the professional class but then again Thai food has always been “popular” to me overall.
