Yeah I believe that things like pests allow you to legally break your lease unconditionally. I would contact an attorney just to be sure though.

How many official request/complaints have you submitted? You need to get several on record if you haven't already. Take note of names of anyone you speak to. Take pictures before/after each request.

Contact the highest rankin' person you can. Typically there's an onsite manager. Get to atleast their boss. Verbally request breakin' the lease and state why, how long, how many, etc. Pests are a big deal and a reasonable person high enough on the ladder to make the decison will simply break the lease. If not...

You can sue to break the lease, maybe even for court & lawyer fees. Maybe even for back rent from the last maintenance request.

Why do y'all keep renewing the lease?

You can definitely break the lease.

I why the fukk are you still there?
Breh it's because at the time when we renewed it we stopped seeing em for a while so we thought everything was straight. we def won't be renewing it again come next january.
U can also try peppermint oil. Mice hate that smell cuz they are sensitive to it. U can buy it at whole foods.

A cat in ur house will keep them away as well. Hell, the cats litter box will repel them cuz the smell. Mice don't want anything to do with a house with a cat in it.
yea ill try the oil and i might just say fukk it and adopt a cat to kill these fukkers.
Lmao that shyt story had me weak. :laff:

OP.. Why the fukk are you still there? If this is a complex wide problem, there's probably nothing you can do to solve this issue. Move!

If you insist on staying, make the land lord plug up any holes in your crib. It doesnt matter how clean you are, you will never get rid of pests with holes in your house. And get a fukking cat.. Cats will mame mouse and their scent alone will keep mice away.
well its 3 minute drive from a major metro station, in a good location, my lil bro don't wanna change highschools, and its a 3 bedroom for a good price( im starting to see why).
If you do move be careful you don't bring them with you
this is my first time having rodent problems. Like i said my family is extremely clean, my mom is Caribbean she not with the dirty ass house shyt.
Do you have a landlord/tenant grievance board for your city/state. He's legally obligated to treat your home for pests.
technically they do come in and "treat" by laying down traps and such, but it isn't working very well.

I'd like to know how old the apt building is. I notice the older the building, the more likely you'll have mice. And dont live close to a cornfield:merchant:

Can you buy those electronic mouse repellers over in the US?, I bought this one in the UK which is apparently ultra sonic and electro magnetic, I had a problem with mice, pest controller told me they don't work, well I was getting out of options so I bought one and I swear after I switched it on I never saw one of the little b*stards again. Pest controller must say that perhaps because those electronic things lose him money perhaps?

Another thing, you need to try and find out how they get in,if you can and block it off with wire wool and some kind of filler. Mice and even rats can't chew through wire wool if they try they cut their mouths up. Finally in regards to poisons/traps, poison is an issue because it may kill the mouse but not straight off and it will wonder off to die no doubt in a place you can't find it,rot and maggots will come out of it and then you will have a fly infestation instead to deal with. Iam a fan of electronic traps. Nasty things, and but I certainly would use one because mice spread disease and without question would I use electronic traps with rats.

And mice /rats infestations have normally nothing to do with clean homes, so the maintainence man is talking shyt and is lazy,in fact allegedly vermin prefer clean homes to dirty ones . He needs to move his lazy ass around and find out how the little fukkers are getting into your apartment and where the source is , he needs to block holes off and believe me mice can get through tiny holes, rats need bigger holes but they sometimes chew their way through {hence why you need wire wool and even broken glass embedded with the filler to slash the rats mouth up so it stops chewing}, and he needs to find out how they get into the building and what is attractinv them. You really need professional pest controllers, if your apartment won't pay for that I would suggest you get out of the lease,in fact if they still haven't solved the problem over years I would have left by now.

Plus cats are rubbish, they will torture the mice ,and maybe not kill them and leave them half dead , what you need is a little terrier dog. They will kill vermin.

Exactly. When I had mice in my kitchen back in '08 I got my Housing Association to send someone around to stuff wire wool in all the holes where they were coming in, then I had them seal up all the holes. I haven't seen one mouse since. I don't know why people don't just do that instead. Who the fukk wants to keep laying traps around and picking up dead rodents all the time? :scusthov: Just seal up where the sources are and problem solved.
