38,387 all time points leader Kareem

Kevin Durant 5 seasons = 9,997

38,387 - 9,997 = 28,390

Let's say he averages 30 the next 5 season than that's 12,300

still 15,000 more points to go

I'm still perplexed at how Karl Malone is #2 he had the most unimpressive hall of fame career of anybody that I can think of. 2 MVP's? and Kobe and Shaq only have one?

But Yeah as long as Durant passes Malone Im good.

He isn't gonna average 30 too many more times because he has another 20 ppg scorer in Westbrook; he doesn't need to score 30 like he did before Westbrook became the player he is. I see him averaging a very efficient 27 to 28 ppg from here on out and that isn't a knock on Durant.

The only thing stopping that is Young Sabo

And we don't know how long Durant can/will play. Kareem played for 36 years and put that record pretty far out of reach. Karl Malone played past 40 and still was probably a couple of seasons away.

If I had to put money up on anybody getting that record, I'd put it on LeBron because I think his body will hold up longer than anyone else's, and I don't think LBJ is getting that record either.

No, but he could def be in the top 5. Dudes offensive game relies very little on his athleticism, he could score 25+ PPG for the next 12-13 years.

Unless, Kobe does it, nobody will ever top Kareem.

Meanwhile, MJ might slip to 5th or 6th by the end of KD or Lebrons career. :heh:
