To reach Wilt Chamberlain, who is currently fifth on the all-time scoring list at 31,419, he needs another 11,419 points. That would take approximately another six seasons of 1,900 points,


Could Melo really go down as one of the best scorers of all time?

Ther has never been any question about Melo's ability to score. It's the other things it takes to win that have been question.

I remember Melo's very first year when he was in the locker room about to play in (i believe) the Rookie All-Star game and Jordan himself was talking to him on camera and MJ told him "it aint about just putting points on the board. You gotta rebound block shots, play defense, create for others ..." I remember Melo sitting there nodding while MJ spoke to him. And again this was on camera. MJ back then knew Melo would be a deadly scorer in the league.
