There have been 3 big things that have really changed how the game is played: The emphasis on the 3, the increased pace, and the illegal defense rules.

Can guys still simply will teams to win now when so much of a team's success is based on how many 3's they're hitting? If the stars of the past were playing teams that would hit 13-16 3's a game would their brilliance be mitigated at all? With the midrange game being essentially non existent for efficient offenses, does that change how dominant a guy can be? Years ago would a cat like DeRozan, who can feast in the mid range be even more effective

If you are a Jordan level talent, the best player on the court and by far the best player on your team with it not being close.

Then say you’re playing ME, who is say on the level of a KD..... better than your Pippin and defensively I’m taller so gonna give him problems with my D.

Then I have a Klay that can drop 60pts, that YOU have to guard and at best you’ll hold him to 23.

Then I have a Curry who is head over heals better than your PG

And a Green who would harass your PF, probably take him out the game and if he not a scorer..... would just be an extra defender on you since “hell you MJ, how the fukk you look passing to Rodman or Grant”

Then add the reality that 32-46% of our shots we 4 put up are 3..... not even including the 3s bench players like Nick Young put up..... and we hit most of them vs the 17-24% of your shot selection.

And no matter how many 2 pt fgs y’all have.... mathematically it’s not equaling up to our made 3s.

Then on top of that, we getting to the line more and hitting more FTs.

Yea..... that’s kinda tough to overcome and beat.

All you can do is get your 40+ and watch me and Curry torch Pippin & Armstrong/Kerr/Harper.

And even if you switched to “try” to contain one of us..... All you can do is get your 40+ and watch me/Curry (depending on which ONE of us YOU choose to guard) and Klay torch Pippin & Armstrong/Kerr/Harper.
