I have 2 Modems in my house. I have one downstairs which is connected to a wireless router. I have one in my computer room upstairs that is connected straight to a computer. I can not get these 2 modems on the same network, so my computer upstairs can not share anything with the things downstairs. It can share plex with my roku in my bedroom, which is on the wireless network which is strange.

Anybody know a fix?

First off, you won't be putting 2 modems on the same network. No offense, but that's out of your scope.

Now is the second "modem" directly attached to your computer a real modem or another router? If it's another router, you have options but that depends on the model of said modem/router.

You'll be better off purchasing a cheap wireless card for your desktop computer and joining it to the wireless network downstairs.

If it can be done, I am sure I can understand how to do it if you can show me a guide.

It is a modem, not a router. I know I can buy a wireless card for the desktop and connect, but I want to stay hardwired.

You can't put 2 modems on 1 domestic line, you're looking at a business level line with enterprise grade equipment.

You only have 3 viable options:

1. run an ethernet cable from the modem/router downstairs upstairs.
2. buy a wireless card for your desktop ($35).
3. get a second DD-WRT capable router to create a wireless bridge between both routers.
