Because opposition to the state in the last 50 years is usually aasociateda with hating black people, who are seen as (erroneously) the main benefactors of the modern state.
:ohhh: pro govt. = love blacks
:ohhh:anti govt. = down with blacks
This explains so much...:ehh:
Alright, you guys win.
Rand hates blacks.
Jeb is gonna get the nod anyway :deadrose:

Not necessarily... But for the most part white racists view the government as giving their hard earned money to lazy shiftless blacks who buy rims and crack instead of food.

It would be dishonest to say that when people talk about welfare and handouts, their thinking Blacks. Word to Reagans welfare queen.

i think rand paul is wrong about the about civil rights being an infringement of private property rights but i dont think he is more less racist than a democratic politician and i think the benefits of libertarian policies outweigh that disagreement

and overall supporting rand paul is strategic, i think splitting the black vote will increase black political influence

I agree 100% its strategic, if Left* leaning negroes(:pachaha:) can't see the benefit of supporting a republican left of Dems on key issues, than :manny: They truly are owned by the liberal plantation.

Rand Paul doesn't have to save the Republican party. Because they are about to control both the House and Senate today.:manny:

:patrice: So what we have is a situation where we believe conservatives dont care about black issues, and when one does talk about them we :pacspit: making it worthless/meaningless for one side of the aisle to entertain us politically....
... and this is believed to be strategic, and sound reasoning on our part?
:snoop:I just don't get it.

i think thats 100% correct, but its jut one variable in a complex equation

the prison industrial complex and drug laws also represent an expansion of government power, so if supposedly black issues include eliminating the prison industrial complex and drug laws then that means black people are also against the expansion of government power

and even speaking of welfare and other social programs, calling people that are against them racist might be accurate, but using it to shortcut a discussion of the actual policy is not appropriate

in other words racist people being against welfare doesn't equate to welfare or a social program being a good idea, republicans being racist doesnt equate to democrats having good or better policy ideas

so the point is racism is simply one variable in a complex equation

Things like macroeconomic policy and healthcare are also black issues.

Cism or no, a lot of people aren't going to vote for an ideologue who wants to dismantle the New Deal just because he wants to end the drug war too.

:ohhh:So you actually think that the civil rights act can be overturned, and segregation re-instated?... :ehh:Interesting.

That aside, you surely have to see the benefit to African Americans should a conservative gain traction talking about those issues? Dems would be forced to play ball or expose themselves.

I think the New Deal was government jobs and government assistant programs which js different from.the civil rights act.

But the issue isn't so much as if he wants to or will overturn the Civil Rights Act but his views on it tarnishes his reputation.

:dahell: Where did I even remotely imply that the CRA can be overturned and segregation reinstated? :dead:

The second paragraph, I agree with.
