Back in about 2005-ish I went to this place that printed shirts for you and got them to do my own LS shirt. It was just back with the album cover in white on the front but it was dope cost me like $60 or something AUD. You literally couldn’t get that type of shyt in Aus back then, maybe if lived in Sydney or Melbourne. I wanted it to cover the whole front of the shirt and the sleeves but they couldn’t do that with whatever machine they had.
Personally I think it’s a 5 mic classic and top 2/3 Wu solo. I’ve loved it since it dropped but it has definitely become a Tik Tok nerd white boy hipster “must listen” type album. The same as Illmatic.

Every video I see about Hip Hop from these young white boy vinyl “collectors” is Illmatic, LS, DOOM, Midnight Marauders and then it’s always Griselda, Ye and Kendrick. You never see AmeriKKKas Most Wanted or Doggystyle or EPMD or even DMX or Blu & Exile.

They’re like the worst parts of hypebeast culture mixed with bad Complex, Pitchfork and Fantano listicles.
This 1000x. Its crazy how liquid swords went from being an underappreciated album classic into being a culture cult classic on all these hipsters must listen to list. Im happy the album is getting all the love its getting. Its that i dont like how its being used by fake people as a way of being seen as a credible rap listener. On the low, its the frauds trying to control the culture despite the fact that most of them dont know shyt about hip hop.

This is true.

But that's on Columbia though. They didn't want to give L a bigger budget, so he wasn't able to record any new music for the album. Most of the album had sh*t on it that was 2-3 years old. Which is why so much of it sounded wild dated, by '95. They told him they would fund a single, but that was it. Which became "Put It On", but the rest of the album was old as sh*t. They did him dirty.

Funny you say this, I made my own LS shirt back in HS (around 05 as well). I did it the cheap way, bought heat transfer paper and ironed on the highest res photo I could find at the time :pachaha:
