Can someone breakdown church demoninations and why they're so important?

I often hear members of a specific denominations (Baptists, Anglican, Protestant etc etc.) talk sh1t about other church denominations as if they're satan worshipers n sh1t. Is it really that serious and why is there so much animosity between such groups?

This sh1t is like bloods and crips where u just rep whatever set the neighborhood you was raised in reps



Also, I obviously I don't know the complete history of each splinter group (cause I'm a heathen who gives zero fuks) but if I'm not mistaken didn't they all originally branch off from and originate from the catholic church? (This is what "secular" theological historians agree on right? they're the only historians that matter to me). I'm aware of the basic Martin Luther type sh1t but that's where it stops.


and wouldn't it make more since if they got rid of denominations/groups all together and just follow the "book"? since they all claim to believe in the same sh1t?

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.

and the catholic / protestant animosity is only a few countries like Ireland, russia, romania etc.
