Okay so back then the NWA ran wrestling in North America. It was made up of a bunch of regions called territories. Each territory had their own fed, and their own champions, and stars. Out of all of the territories, the NWA would choose someone to be the overall NWA champion, that would tour all the territories to defend against their regional champions.

They didn't have beef, that was the whole point. They worked together. If someone opened an "outlaw" (non-NWA) promotion in say Florida, the NWA would send their big stars to Floirda to run a show against the outlaw promotion's show so the local Florida NWA member wouldn't have competition. Once cable TV came out and one promotion could be seen everywhere it wasn't too long before the territories died out because Vince Jr. wasn't gonna sticc to the Northeast

Kinda like the mafia a family or group basically owned an area or ierrority and any thing that happen in that area had to run through them and be okeyed by them

In the old days, there were wrestling fiefdoms all over the country, each with its own little lord in charge :troll:

Like how did it all operate? did territories have beef? were they regulated to stay in their state?

@julesocean and @Vinny Lupton explained the majority of it.

Here's a map of the territories at their peak from the McMahon DVD. As you can see AWA, Stampede, Mid- South, and Mid-Atlantic all covered pretty big areas.

one of the points of the territories was that you could constantly bring in new talent and get rid of stale talent. Say you had The Road Warriors in Memphis. if they had feuded with some teams and there was nothing there left for them to do, you send them to World Class or something, and they'll be new and fresh in WCCW. And Memphis could bring in a team like the Rock n Roll Express, and you keep rotating.
