What you talking about, nikkas like 3000 as an artist too. Love that when he jumps on a track, the shyt he is saying is A) relevant to the song at hand and B) is dope as hell.

This isn't as complicated as it seems. And people got the time line of this severely confused.

Outkast didn't really cross over until "The Love Below". It went 11x plat, for Christ sake. It made Outkast into legit pop stars.

So a lot of people (mostly white) were obviously introduced to Andre on an album with barely any rap from him.

To the rest of us, we knew him as a rapper first. To those other people, he was a pop star that they retroactively found out rapped good as fukk.

So that made their opinion of him skyrocket.

It would be like finding out Adele has bars.

    EDIT:

And no I'm not shytting on Andre by comparing him to Adele. I been a fan of 'kast since "Player's Ball". But most people that got into him later, seen him as an MC 2nd and pop star 1st.

    Fred.

These are the ones that did it. They actually made a Kidz Bop version of Hey Ya

This might be part of the reason he fell back :pachaha:

White people like artsy black people. They disgard Big Boi because he's not the image that folks like.

shyt I’ve seen black ppl do this too…to be fair tho it’s primarily on message boards…so who knows maybe they’re white lol

I still think big boi is the better lyricist but 3000 definitely became the bigger artist tho bcuz he incorporated a much wider sound…no hidden pun intended

y’all underestimate white ppl’s “obsession” with hip hop period…they literally accounted for 70% of sales when CDs were still a thing circa mid-2000s…this is not coli statistics…this is from research when I was writing up a business plan for a record shop…I remember we were doing a show at UCONN hartford (not the main school) and I was surprised at how many white boys could quote canibus and shyt…and to be fair wu just different…their shyt is global

I'm not underestimating their financial impact - Been going to Rolling Loud, Day n Night/Vegas since 2017....I understand its 80% white

My point is compared to white folks the average black fan doesn't really fukk with andre 3000 or Wu-Tang like that

ehh I get you but idk about the bold especially with wu tang…the only litmus test I can see for that is concerts and that speaks to financial impact which you just downplayed

One is masculine and the other is flexible. They don’t want black men to be strong and powerful, they like flexible. You should see how the west pressures and threatens Africa.

My issue with 3 stacks has always been his lack of output on music. I thinks it's kinda fukked up when fans have been asking for music for years and you leave them hanging. Then in interviews you talk about how you are not inspired which I don't understand. Your job is music, you have money, get inspired. Then you hear about guys like Prince, Lil Wayne and Pac who got music for days.

Plus how much Outkast money has he fukked up for Big Boi always wanting to do his own thing?
