Empire: The Rise and Demise of the British World Order and the Lessons for Global Power Paperback – April 14, 2004
by Niall Ferguson
Niall Ferguson?
As in the empire apologist?
That's fine, despite him being in love with Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I'll get his book and a book by a strong critic of Britain and the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
If you enjoy a narrative of British colonialism being benevolent and civilising for wild natives then knock yourself out.
The story peddled by imperial apologists is a poisonous fairytale

Whats a better suggestion.
In fact any good books you could recommend on race, colonialism, etc would be a help

Excellent book. The writer is a cac and has some questionable views towards Mugabe, but he does and excellent job breaking down the events that led to the creation of Africa as it is today. Excellent read.
